Starfalls Weyr was founded almost seven turns ago when Dan, Rider of Bronze Flintith, and Skye, a Queen candidate, stumbled across the site due to an error in coordinates. They stayed to explore the area for the day and that night a strange thing occurred. Stars began falling from the sky and Skye, Dan, Flintith, and their flits began to feel oddly calm. After spending the evening there they returned to Fort Weyr to discuss the possibility of opening a new Weyr at the site with Fort’s leaders.
Two turns later Dan and Skye (now rider of Gold Caylinith) returned to the promising site to found Starfalls Weyr. Caylinith rose and Flintith caught her and soon a clutch with a Queen egg lay hardening on the sands. However, there was something strange about the clutch. The stars that often fell over Starfalls seemed to be attracted to certain eggs and neither Dan nor Skye knew what that would do to the eggs. When the clutch hatched it was clear that the stars had affected the eggs. A new kind of dragon emerged. The star dragons. They were like the old colors only their hides were a lighter shade with darker flecks that looked like stars all over their hides. Over time the Weyr began to realize that the star dragons also possessed special abilities.
These star dragons were not the only surprises in store for the Weyr. In the second Queen’s clutch, Gold Arlinith, a new color appeared from two eggs (one left over from Caylinith’s second clutch) thought to be dead. The dead eggs hatched bearing the strange starlight dragons. A theory developed that the stars had brought the dead dragonets back to life. Not much is known about the color thus far.
In the five turns since Starfalls was founded the Weyr has thrived. Their ranks have swelled to include three fully matured gold dragons and several fully armed wings. The Weyr still faces many questions and challenges though. What are the mystery stars that fall only in Starfalls? How and why do they change dragons? And what, if any, relationship does it have to eradicating Thread? And if Thread cannot be eradicated then how many more losses will the Weyr have to survive?
Gold Vilanth, the youngest of the three golds, has taken to the air in her first flight and soon her clutch will be hardening upon the Sands. There is some speculation as to what colors might appear in this clutch as recently some new, unknown flit colors have emerged.
There are plenty of opportunity at Starfalls for adventure. With many flit and dragon clutches we are always in need of new candidates. And with the sightings of a dolphin pod visiting the lake nearby the Weyr, new possibilities have opened up. And what is it with the strangely coloured flits born in the last gold's flitclutch?
We encourage members to come up with suggestions to better the site and become involved/create plot ideas.
