Wherling Rules
1. No other person may touch your wher unless it initiates it for the first six months. Whers are territorial and will not tolerate it well.
2. Any non-Wherling must never be anywhere near your wher until graduation unless it is part of your training.
3. It is the handler's duty to be sure that his or her wher does not pick fights or engage in them! Any whers who are found fighting will bring repercussions on their handlers.
4. Wherlings will learn to conform to a nightly schedule. They will be awake from 6pm until 10am.
5. Wherlings will not leave their wher's side unless their wher is asleep.
6. Wherlings are not to have intimate relationships until graduation. Whers are very territorial of their handlers and it is not safe for either handler or wher.
7. Alcohol is not permitted until graduation. Young whers need someone with a strong, clear mind to control them. No handler should be drinking often in either case, since full control of your wher is needed at all times.
8. No Wherling may leave the Weyr without express permission from the Weyrleaders or Wherlingmaster. Wild whers may be drawn to your young wher and unless you are fully capable of controlling your wher, both of you could be killed.
